The Mahindra XUV700 is getting its first-ever update since its launch in August 2021. The upcoming facelift version has been spotted testing, and though the SUV is heavily camouflaged, a few design changes are still visible.
Mahindra seems to be working on refreshing the XUV700’s appeal while keeping the base structure familiar.
Fresh Design Changes On The Way
Spy shots reveal that the facelifted XUV700 keeps most of the current design. But there are a few updates. The front grille is new. It now has vertical slats and is tilted slightly, giving it a sharper face.
The test car didn’t show any fog lamps, and interestingly, the headlamps looked circular, reminding us of the Thar. But this might not be the final look. Production models could have a different setup.
From the sides and rear, the alloy wheels, taillights, and overall shape seem unchanged from the current model.
New Features Might Be Borrowed From XUV.e9
The facelift could bring in more premium features. Mahindra might use the dashboard design from the upcoming XUV.e9. That means a more modern layout inside.
Expected new features include ventilated seats in both rows, a digital key, self-parking tech, and an updated Harman Kardon sound system. These additions can improve both comfort and tech experience.
Powertrain To Stay Familiar, Hybrid May Join
Under the hood, the facelift is expected to continue with the same engine options. These include a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. Both engines will likely be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.
There’s also talk of a plug-in hybrid variant. If that happens, it could make the XUV700 one of the few Indian SUVs to offer hybrid power in its segment.
Mahindra is clearly looking to take the XUV700 a step ahead, not just in looks, but in features and future-readiness too.
