The KTM 390 Enduro R 2025 is finally here, and it’s already getting attention from off-road lovers all over. KTM has always been serious about making motorcycles that love dirt, jumps, and long trails. This new model continues that tradition. But it also brings some smart upgrades and a fresh design that makes it more than just a dirt bike.
If you’re someone who likes weekend trail rides, or even long cross-country tours with some mud and gravel in between, this bike might just be your dream come true. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the new KTM 390 Enduro R 2025 special.
A True Off-Road Design That Looks Mean
One quick glance at the 390 Enduro R, and you know it’s ready for business. The tall stance, slim frame, and aggressive front all scream off-road. It’s not trying to be flashy. It’s here to ride hard.
The headlamp unit is all-new. It’s sharp and tucked into a rally-style mask. You get a fully LED setup with excellent throw, which helps when you ride early mornings or hit dusty trails at sunset. The front fender is high-mounted to keep it clear of mud buildup.
The fuel tank is slightly larger than before. The body panels are narrow and tight. This gives you better movement when you stand up on the pegs while riding off-road. You’ll notice minimal overhangs, no unnecessary plastics, and just a rugged, lightweight look.
It’s also got fresh graphics with KTM’s classic orange and black theme. This time, the design feels more mature, almost like a mini Dakar rally bike.
Built on a New Lightweight Frame
The frame of the new 390 Enduro R is a big talking point. KTM has used a new lightweight trellis frame, similar to the one found on the 2024 Duke 390. But it’s been tuned for off-road conditions.
This frame is stronger and lighter. The geometry is updated for better control on rough patches. You get better balance when taking sharp turns or dropping down small hills. Even with a full tank and luggage, the bike stays planted.
The swingarm is also new. It’s made from aluminum and built to take hard hits. There’s enough ground clearance to go over rocks, logs, and ditches without a scratch.
Suspension Setup That Loves the Wild
Suspension is the heart of any enduro bike. KTM didn’t hold back here. The 390 Enduro R gets long-travel WP XPLOR suspension at both ends. These are top-class components.
At the front, you have 43mm USD forks with compression and rebound adjustability. At the rear, there’s a monoshock with a progressive spring and full adjustability too. This setup helps you fly over rocks, glide through ruts, and stay comfortable on long trails.
Travel distance is more than 250mm at the front and nearly 240mm at the rear. That’s enough to take on harsh terrains and even jump over obstacles without bottoming out.
Strong Engine with a New Feel
The engine powering the KTM 390 Enduro R 2025 is a refined version of KTM’s popular 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. But this time, it’s got a better low-end punch and smoother top-end performance.
Power output is around 45 bhp, and torque is close to 39 Nm. What makes this engine special is how it delivers power. You don’t need to keep it high in the revs. The low-end torque is strong, which is exactly what you want in sand, mud, or rocky patches.
The throttle response is sharp but not jerky. You can ride slowly in technical sections or go full-throttle on open dirt tracks. It feels alive but not too wild to control.
KTM has also tuned the gear ratios slightly. Lower gears are shorter for better off-road crawling. The top gear still allows you to cruise at 100+ km/h on highways without stress.
Rally-Style Ergonomics
The KTM 390 Enduro R has a proper upright riding position. The handlebars are wide and high. The footpegs are off-road specific and offer good grip even with muddy boots.
Seat height is tall—around 890mm—but that’s expected in a serious enduro bike. Tall riders will love the space and freedom of movement. Shorter riders might need some getting used to, but it’s manageable with practice.
The seat is slim and padded just enough. It’s not made for long highway rides, but you can add a gel seat if comfort is a concern. Standing up on the pegs feels natural. The fuel tank allows your knees to grip properly, giving more control when the trail gets tough.
Advanced Electronics with Simplicity
Even though it’s a pure off-road machine, KTM added some smart electronics to make life easier. You get:
- Ride-by-wire throttle
- Two riding modes: Street and Off-road
- Cornering ABS with off-road mode (rear ABS off)
- Traction control with off-road setting
- Quickshifter+ for clutchless upshifts and downshifts
- Slipper clutch
The TFT display is compact and well-placed. It’s not too flashy but gives you all the info—speed, revs, fuel, trip meter, and ride mode. You can control settings using a small joystick on the handlebar.
Also, the bike gets smartphone connectivity via KTM’s My Ride app. You can access turn-by-turn navigation, music, and call alerts if you pair your phone.
Wheels and Brakes for All Terrains
The 2025 390 Enduro R gets spoke wheels—21-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear. These sizes are perfect for off-roading. You can mount knobby tires or dual-purpose ones based on your riding style.
KTM offers Metzeler or Pirelli rally tires as stock in some markets. These give great grip on loose sand, gravel, and muddy trails.
Braking is handled by ByBre (By Brembo) calipers. The front gets a 320mm disc, and the rear has a 230mm disc. The ABS is switchable, which is a must for trail riding. The feedback is solid, and you feel in control even during hard braking.
Built Tough, Yet Not Too Heavy
The dry weight of the new 390 Enduro R is about 155 kg. Add fuel, fluids, and you’re looking at 170-175 kg wet. That’s still lighter than most ADV bikes. It’s a huge plus when you’re riding off-road. You can pick it up easily after a fall or push it around tight trails.
The fuel tank holds 13 liters. With better fuel tuning and EFI, the mileage is around 30 km/l in mixed conditions. So you’re looking at 350 to 400 km of range per tank.
Accessories and Custom Options
KTM will offer a bunch of official accessories for the 390 Enduro R. You can expect:
- Handguards
- Skid plate
- Radiator protection
- Luggage rack
- Soft saddle bags
- LED auxiliary lights
- Bash plate
- GPS mount
These are all designed to fit perfectly and can be added without major mods. You can also go aftermarket if you like building a unique adventure machine.
Who Is This Bike For?
The KTM 390 Enduro R 2025 is not for everyone. It’s not a commuter. It’s not a typical city bike. It’s a machine made for people who love nature, dirt, dust, and riding in places where cars don’t go.
If you’re already into trail riding, this bike will be a dream. If you’re new to off-roading, it’s a perfect entry-level machine. It’s powerful enough to keep you excited but not so wild that it scares you.
For people who ride to remote places, this bike is a tool. It’s light, reliable, and easy to fix. You don’t need a huge budget or a fancy garage. Just good riding boots and a free weekend.
Expected Price in India
KTM hasn’t announced the exact price yet, but it’s expected to launch in India around late 2025. The price could be between ₹3.6 to ₹4.2 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s still a great value when you look at what you’re getting.
It will be imported as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit and assembled here. So the price will depend on import duties, but KTM usually keeps costs tight.
