Volvo EX30 2025 is finally coming to India. And this small luxury electric SUV is already making a lot of noise. Volvo has confirmed the launch and Indian buyers are getting excited. It’s compact, it’s fast, and it’s packed with some seriously smart features.
But what’s getting everyone talking is the expected price. Volvo is planning something big here. A premium EV at a price that might surprise a lot of people.

The boot space is around 318 liters, which is good for a small SUV. Fold the rear seats and you get even more room. There’s also a frunk (front trunk) under the hood, which is great for storing the charging cable and small bags.

Performance that surprises
Volvo offers the EX30 in two main versions globally. The Single Motor Rear-Wheel Drive and the Twin Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance version.
The single motor makes around 272 hp and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. That’s already quick. But the twin motor setup is a beast. It produces 428 hp and does 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. That’s faster than many sports cars.
Most likely, India will get the single motor version first. It’s fast enough for our roads and gives a better range too.
The ride quality is soft and comfortable. The steering feels light in the city and confident on the highway. Even though it’s quick, it never feels harsh or jerky. Volvo has tuned it for daily comfort and family use.
Long range for city and highway
The EX30 uses a 69 kWh battery pack in the long-range version. Volvo claims it can go up to 480 km on a single charge under ideal conditions.
In real-world usage, you can expect around 400 to 420 km, which is still excellent. There’s also a smaller 51 kWh battery version with around 340 km real-world range, but it’s not confirmed for India yet.
You get fast charging support as well. With a DC fast charger, you can go from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes. That makes it easy for long trips too.
Smart tech and features
The Volvo EX30 is loaded with smart features. You get:

Globally, the EX30 is one of the most affordable Volvos ever. In India, the expected starting price is around ₹50 to ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s shocking because you get a luxury EV with insane performance, top safety, and modern tech.
This makes it one of the cheapest luxury electric SUVs in the country. It will compete with the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and even the BMW iX1.
